Mission Statement

The intent of the Elder Services Program is to provide Home Care services such as caregiver, chores, and companionship services to eligible PTOI Tribal member elders 55 and older with documented disability. Must be approved by Executive Director or Designee as needing caregiving, chore service, companionship, or transportation services.

Services Provided

  • Applicant must be (whichever is applicable):
  • Enrolled member of the Puyallup Tribe of Indians;
  • Elder: 55 years of age or older whose ability to perform the normal activities for daily living or to provide for his or her own protection is impaired due to a physical disability or kidney dialysis; or
  • Elder who is 55 years of age or older and has a need for supportive companionship

Caregiver Services (include but not limited to)

  • Personal care: bathing, personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, toileting;
  • Meal planning and preparation;
  • Housekeeping: linen changing, laundry etc.;
  • Exercise;
  • Transfers and positioning;
  • Transportation;
  • Medication assistance, and
  • Welfare checks.
  • Chore Services (include but not limited to):
  • Laundry and change linens;
  • Light housekeeping: clean kitchen, wash dishes, take out garbage, sweep, mop, vacuum floors, clean bathrooms;
  • Medical reminders and delivery;
  • Meal planning and preparation;
  • Shopping for food or other essential home items;
  • Transportation (see full policy); and/or
  • Mail retrieval and drop off.
